Storia Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between Unati Inc. ("Unati," "Storia," "we," "us," or "our") and you regarding your access to and use of our websites, applications, physical products, and services that help you capture, share, and preserve family stories (collectively, the "Service" or "Services").
"Storia" is our customer-facing name and brand.
By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
1. Roles and Definitions
Buyer: The individual who purchases Storia products or Services, including printed keepsake story cards.
Storyteller: The individual whose stories, voice recordings, or other personal content are collected using Storia's tools.
Collaborators: Individuals invited by the Buyer or Storyteller to participate in storytelling activities (future feature).
Recipients: Individuals designated by the Buyer to receive physical copies of printed keepsake story cards.
"User" refers to any Buyer, Storyteller, Collaborator, Recipient, or visitor to our website.
2. Eligibility
You may use the Service only if:
- You are at least 13 years old, and
- If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, your parent or guardian has reviewed these Terms and accepts them on your behalf.
Parents and guardians are fully responsible for the minor's use of Storia.
3. Accounts
Some features require an account. You agree to:
- Provide accurate information
- Maintain and update your account details
- Keep your login credentials secure
You are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of unauthorized access.
4. Description of the Service
Storia helps families connect more deeply through storytelling. Features include:
- Time Travel Companion, an AI-assisted guided conversation tool
- Collection of stories through audio recordings or text
- Generation of titles, quotes, and story summaries
- Creation and delivery of printed keepsake story cards, which may include:
- Storyteller's name
- Title
- Quote or excerpt
- QR code linking to audio
- Delivery of physical card sets to the Buyer and the Buyer's selected Recipients
- Optional premium memoir projects
AI Disclosure:
Storia uses AI to support guided conversations and create story cards.
We do not train AI models on your personal data or stories.
Story links are private URLs—anyone with the link can view the content. You control whether to share links.
5. Use of the Service
You may use the Service only for lawful purposes. You agree not to:
- Harass or harm others
- Upload illegal, obscene, or inappropriate content
- Impersonate others or access accounts without authorization
- Scrape, reverse engineer, or interfere with the Service
- Use the Service to create competing products
- Introduce viruses or harmful code
- Misuse or commercially exploit content belonging to others
6. Your Content and License
"Your Content" includes all stories, audio, images, text, and other material you submit.
Ownership
You retain full ownership of Your Content.
License to Us
You grant Unati a limited license to:
host, store, process, modify, and create derivative works from Your Content solely as necessary to provide the Service (including creating printed keepsakes and hosting audio files).
We will not use Your Content for:
- marketing,
- advertising,
- AI model training
without your prior written permission.
If you submit content involving other people, you represent that you have obtained all necessary permissions.
Feedback
If you submit feedback or suggestions, you grant us permission to use them without restriction.
7. Printed Keepsakes, Shipping, and Refunds
Printed Story Card Sets
After completing a storytelling session, Buyers receive five printed sets:
- One for the Buyer
- Four additional sets for chosen Recipients
- Option to send all five to one address
Shipping Information
We collect names and mailing addresses only to create and deliver printed keepsakes.
Refunds and Replacements
- If keepsakes arrive damaged or defective, we will replace them at no cost. We may request photos for confirmation.
- If no printed keepsake has been ordered, the Buyer may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase.
- Customized or printed keepsakes are otherwise non-refundable.
8. Privacy
Our collection, use, and protection of personal information are described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
9. Modification or Termination of the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time. When reasonably possible, we will provide advance notice and allow you to export content.
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms.
You may stop using the Service at any time.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available."
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.
To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Unati is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
- Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the Service or $50, whichever is greater.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; those rights may apply to you.
12. Governing Law & Arbitration (Delaware)
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, excluding conflict-of-law principles.
Mandatory Arbitration
Except for small-claims matters, any dispute will be resolved exclusively through binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association (AAA) before a single arbitrator.
Arbitration will be conducted virtually unless otherwise agreed.
Class Action Waiver
You and Unati agree that:
- claims must be brought individually,
- no class, collective, or representative actions are permitted.
There is no right to opt out of arbitration.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. When we do, we will revise the "Last revised" date above. Continued use of the Service indicates acceptance of updated Terms.
